Student Facilities at ESO Kent

ESO Library

Our well equipped library provides access to all the resources our students will need for their osteopathic studies. From books to journals to educational DVDs to anatomical models, our students can utilise a wide range of high-quality scientific resources. This includes online access to Plymouth University’s library catalogues and e-learning tools (our partner university).

We also have a collection of mainly peer-reviewed journals in the field of osteopathy and manual therapy (students also have access to online journal articles in Science Direct and other additional digital databases through our partner universities). We have excellent links with with other osteopathic and health sector libraries enabling rapid document supply and inter-library loans of items not held at ESO.

Teaching Clinic

The fully functioning ESO teaching clinic is conveniently located on the same site as our campus. It has been providing osteopathic care to the Maidstone community for over 40 years.

Consultations at the Clinic are provided by third and fourth year student practitioners, supervised by a team of specialist tutors who are also practising osteopaths.  Alongside general osteopathic consultations, we provide specialist services for:-

  • Maternity care
  • Children
  • Sports
  • Headache
  • Women’s health

The Clinic also provides an onsite MSK Diagnostic Ultrasound facility.

Equipment

ESO invests in innovative equipment for use in research and lectures, to enhance our student’s practical learning experience.

Teaching Rooms

We have  teaching rooms fitted with modern adjustable couches for practical classes and one room for theory lectures. Each teaching room is equipped with a variety of resources including audio units and ceiling-mounted projection.

Student Area

The communal areas provide the ideal atmosphere to socialise and relax, with a pool table, plus a large TV and games console. Here, treatment couches are also available for students to practice, outside of their timetabled lectures.
