  Introduction

Welcome to the website of the International Department of the ESO

The ESO has a long tradition of forming international links, which over the years have broadened and enriched its teaching of Osteopathy

The School’s important European and international links, together with its reputation for high standards of training in all aspects of osteopathic practice, will ensure that it remains a major influence in the future development of osteopathy.

The ESO has strong academic links with schools in Russia, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Estonia and Finland, and is actively involved with these in attempting to improve both academic and research standards and achieve a degree of standardisation of osteopathic education in Europe. It is a member of OSEAN and is closely associated with osteopathic organisations in a number of European countries as well as Australia, New Zealand & the USA. By so doing we hope to see osteopathic recognition in all countries.

An  International Conference is organised biennially, where leading exponents of osteopathy present their current research in conference and via a series of workshops. This is attended by delegates from all over the world and offers the excellent opportunity to network and further develop knowledge and concepts.

These international links provide a wide range of professional opportunities for our students, enrich the faculty and undergraduate teaching programme and provide useful professional development or teaching.

As well as introducing ourselves our intention is that this site should be a source of information and forum for discussion of osteopathic matters for those students studying osteopathy, particularly those that are studying part time and may not have easy access to resources. Designed principally for the students of the schools that we have academic ties with, it is open to anyone interested in osteopathy and other forms of manual therapy.

The School's Erasmus Policy Statment is available to view via the Erasmus section.

International events Please let us know if you are organising anything so we can post it here.

The resources section is for International students of the ESO and is password protected. This will contain information relating to the lectures that are run by the ESO such as course handouts.

The links are to sites that are of osteopathic and related areas of interest and should be particularly useful for those doing their final year research projects. We have posted some but would be grateful if you could send us details of other links that you have found useful.

If you do have any questions or want to notify us of any of the above information, then please contact us
