Tuition Fees - 2011/12
UK and EU Students
The ESO is a Partner College of The University of Greenwich (UoG) and through this partnership it is able to access government funding for its course. Course fees are set annually and determined by the UoG. For 2011/12 these will be £3,375 per annum. Please visit the UoG website for further information: http://www2.gre.ac.uk/study/finance/undergraduate
I already have a degree. Will this affect the amount I pay?
Following government legislation, funded places are no longer available to candidates wishing to study for a qualification that is at an equivalent or lower level to that already held. For example, a candidate with an existing Masters level qualification applying for an Integrated Masters Degree would not be eligible for a funded place. An applicant with an existing Bachelors Degree would, however, be eligible as the Integrated Masters qualification offered at the ESO is at a higher level. This ruling holds true regardless of the country of origin of the existing qualification. For further information please visit www.hefce.ac.uk/FAQ/elq.htm.
The annual tuition fee for UK or EU students affected by ELQ legislation is set by the University of Greenwich - for 2011/12 the fee will be £7,500.
Please be aware that if you have studied at higher level before, you may not be able to pay your tuition fees with a student loan from the Government. You may also not be entitled to maintenance grants or support.
I am not from an EU country. How much do International students have to pay?
International student fees for 2011/12 are £9,375 per year. The tuition fee loan is not available to non EU students. International students may visit the UCAS website: www.ucas.ac.uk for useful links on how to fund the course.
Other Costs
You will also need to consider the cost of your accommodation.
Once on the course you will require various items including books, diagnostic equipment, clinic coats etc. We estimate the TOTAL cost of these items, over the 4 years, to be about £600.
Can I get a job to help fund the course?
The course runs over 36 weeks per year. Many of our students work in the school holidays or part-time in the evenings. There are job opportunities in the town and surrounding areas and our students are often employed in the sports and leisure industries, supermarkets and in the numerous bars and restaurants in Maidstone town centre.
