Osteopaths have not only moral obligations to their patients and colleagues but also legal and ethical ones. This course explores these issues and adequately prepares our students for their professional life.
Case History Skills
The ability to take and analyse a clinical case history forms a significant aspect of both undergraduate and post-graduate clinical skills. This course provides in-depth training in preparation for treating patients in the
ESO Teaching Clinic.
Clinic Observation
During the pre-clinical years, we believe that it is essential the student becomes familiar with our teaching clinic both on an organisational and clinical level. Observation of our 3rd and 4th year students provides a gradual and supported introduction.
Maternity Ward Observation
As part of the ESO’s ongoing commitment to integrative working practice, our students will spend time in the local NHS hospital observing practice within the maternity and orthopaedic wards, with an option to observe surgery.
Clinical Neurology
An integrative course which develops the knowledge gained through the Neural Science course and applies it to clinical scenarios/conditions. It also explores the implications of such conditions upon osteopathic diagnosis and practice.
Paediatrics
Provided in conjunction with the osteopathic care of children, this course develops our students understanding of paediatric clinical presentations.
Practice Management and Accounting
This short course provides information to help our students start out on their professional life in private practice. It explores current fiscal factors and their impact upon the self employed practitioner.
