ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES ADMISSIONS SERVICE (UCAS)
In line with UCAS guidelines, all applications received prior to 15th January will be given equal consideration.
We are committed to treating all applicants fairly and we do not discriminate on grounds of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion or belief.
We welcome students from a variety of backgrounds and actively encourage mature students.
All applicants:
- must be in good health
- must be fluent in both spoken and written English
- will be subjected to a criminal records check
The Admissions Team endeavours to take a holistic approach to applications, and many factors are considered before deciding whether to interview an applicant:
- existing qualifications and grades
- predicted grades and qualifications
- personal statement by the candidate (this should refer to osteopathy in some way and state reasons why an applicant wishes to study osteopathy and why they believe that they are a suitable candidate)
- Reference provided by applicants (preferably academic)
The decision whether to offer a place to an applicant is made after the applicant has attended an interview. At interview we look for the following:
- good communication skills
- mature outlook
- friendliness
- confidence
- enthusiasm
- commitment
- professional manner and appearance
It is advised that applicants visit a local osteopath and, if possible, observe some treatments.
Any work experience gained in a care environment, community work or in counselling schemes will be of benefit.
School leavers should ideally be able to demonstrate evidence of time spent in a responsible role, or participation in team sports, membership in clubs or organisations, or participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
DEFERRED ENTRY
The School has no objections to the possibility of deferred entry, although applicants may be required to return to the School for an update prior to commencing the course.
